Environmental commitment is an important value for Loop Dee Science

Environmental commitment is an important value for our company. This is why our teams move into new eco-friendly premises from 13 September 2022, taking advantage of the aid we have been granted by the French Plan de Relance (recovery plan). This is an opportunity to bring all our services together within the same site, in the Koenig area in Bretteville sur Odon, Normandy.

Reducing our environmental footprint

To reduce our environmental footprint as much as possible, the building has been designed with reinforced insulation so as to considerably restrict our energy requirements. The premises are equipped with a double-flow ventilation system with the aim of limiting heat loss both at the entrances and exits. A light detection system has been installed so that the light turns off when no one is in.

An active and collaborative project

Our employees were involved in the design and layout of the premises, our wish being to provide more comfort at work. There is natural light on both floors. These new premises also have a shower to encourage sports activity during lunch breaks. A cafeteria combines individual and collective spaces so that everyone can enjoy their break as they wish. Quality of life at work is the main priority for our management.

Improving our efficiency and production capacity

This installation also aims to improve the efficiency of our Research and Development department, with the creation of several laboratories dedicated to each type of activity (micro-biology, chemistry, preparations, machine use). In addition, this move allows us to increase considerably our production capacity.

Eco-friendly actions in place

In addition, several actions have been implemented in respect to the environment. For example, since our foundation, we have limited our consumption of chemicals to a minimum. We reduce our business travel as much as we can and encourage conference calls and remote trainings. We have also chosen to remain within the Caen area as our activity is closely linked to the Normandy actors, as well as the Caen University Hospital, the Cyceron group and many others.

Our next identified areas of progress are : the reduction of paper, which has already been initiated and which will be drastically reduced in 2023, the installation of a 2-wheel shelter to encourage our employees to make their daily journeys by bicycle and the recycling of waste with the possibility of setting up a composting facility on our new site.

The inauguration of our new research and development centre is planned for the end of 2022!
